No, Festea Web Apps are websites which can be accessed using the web browser available on all phones (e.g. Chrome on Android or Safari on iOS). However, they are especially optimized for use in smartphones and offer the user to add the web app to their home screen for more convenient access.

Which types of festivals or events can benefit most from Festea Web Apps?

Any festival with more than a few concerts can benefit from displaying its schedule using a web app. In addition, almost every festival has some communication needs which can be easily fulfilled using push notifications and the inbox that comes with all web apps by Festea.

How quickly can we get a web app up and running for our festival?

Can we use our own branding, domain, and colors in the app?

The web app can be accessed by following a link or scanning a QR code.

Use QR codes printed throughout the venue, communication through social networks and ticketing channels on the days leading up to the event to let your attendees know about the web app.

Is it easy for visitors to find the right information (stages, schedules, maps, food vendors)?

Of course, our web apps are especially optimized for that quick interaction where a visitor needs to quickly find where's their next favorite concert or where to eat. They include support for a personalized schedule organized by stages and days, as well as for displaying a map so that users can easily navigate your venue.

Can we link the app from our social media or ticketing confirmations?

Yes, that's a good idea to let your guests know about the web app, especially since they'll be accessing those platforms from their phones.

What’s the user experience like compared to mobile apps or printed programs?

Can we update the program or artist lineup in real time?

What happens if a show is delayed or canceled?

You just need to update the schedule on the app to show it as cancelled or move it to its new time slot.

Moreover, with the push notification functionality you can let your attendees know about the change as soon as possible so they can plan accordingly. You'll also know how many attendees had favorited the show to gauge the impact of any schedule changes.

Can attendees personalize their own schedule or “favorites” list?

Yes, attendees can favorite concerts to create their own personalized schedule. They can filter the schedule to see only the shows they've favorited and will get a notification when one of their favorite shows is about to start (15 minutes before).

You'll also gain insights as to which artists are generating the most hype.

How do we manage overlapping events or multiple stages?

Festea Web apps come with built in support for complex schedules that span multiple stages with multiple shows happening at the same time. You can easily configure them using the backoffice and attendees will be able to see them organized by day and stage, including with a timeline view so they have clear understanding of which shows are overlapping (so they can make the hard decisions when their favorite artists are playing at the same time).

Communication & Engagement

Can we send push notifications or alerts to attendees?

Yes, this is one of the strongest functionalities in Festea web apps. Even though the app doesn't need to be installed, users will be offered to enable push notifications when they first visit the web app. If they accept, you'll be able to send push notifications just like in native apps. For users who don't, notifications will still be available on the Inbox section on the app.

How do notifications appear if it’s a web app and not a native app?

Both iOS and Android added support for sending push notifications via web sites back in 2019. Festea web apps leverage those technologies, combined with a heavily optimized website for mobile devices to provide a near-native experience, without the hassle of having to download and install an app just for a weekend.

Can we use the app for promotions, contests, or surveys?

Of course, you can even send notifications to keep your audience engaged. Notifications can include a link where your users will be taken to when the notification is clicked so that you can follow up with more information.

Yes, Festea web apps allow users to save concerts as favorites so they get notified 15 minutes before the show starts. Promoters can access analytics about favorites including the number of favorites per artist, organized by stage and by when users favorited them, allowing you to gauge interest precisely.

Is attendee data anonymous and GDPR-compliant?

Yes, all analytics are taken without relying on third-party trackers and are kept anonymized so that no personally identifying information (PII) is recorded. This means that you can get detailed analytics about how your attendees use the web app without having to display an intrusive cookie banner.

Does Festea Web Apps integrate with our existing website or ticketing platform?

No, Festea web apps are standalone websites that you promote separately from your other online presence. Your website and ticketing platform are excellent channels for communication before the event starts but lack the real time capabilities needed for effective communication and engagement. That's when Festea web apps kick in: providing an optimized platform for real-time communication and engagement during the festival.

Can we embed links to maps, streaming, or third-party tools?

All plans in Festea web apps come with support for embedded maps within the web app itself. For more advanced features like embedding other content or linking to third party sites, refer to the higher end plans.

What’s required from our technical team to set up the app?

Nothing! We handle all the technical complexity like ensuring the web app is ready to handle the traffic spike during the festival, configuring push notifications and optimizing the site so that it loads instantly even in slow connections. You just have to worry about filling it with useful information for your attendees using a simple interface that will allow your team to operate the web app autonomously—no technical expertise required.

How secure is the platform and attendee data?

We don't collect attendee data at all. This ensures we're not a target for cyberattacks and don't have to annoy your users with intrusive cookie banners.

What happens if we need support during the festival?

Higher end plans include dedicated support, including phone support during the festival if you need it. However, rest assured that you'll be able to operate all aspects of the web app yourself—no need to call support for anything!
